Notice of Funding Availability: SSVF Grant Applications Due January 31, 2020.

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) yesterday released the Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA ) for existing grantees of the Supportive Services for Veteran Families Program. (SSVF)

This NOFA provides funding opportunities to renew existing grants. According to the VA, The NOFA is competitive and applicants are urged to closely review the NOFA and the associated training available here.

Awards are for services to begin October 1, 2020 . Applications are due no later than January 31, 2020, at 4 pm EST. Please contact SSVF@va.gov if you have questions.

The SSVF program assists very low-income veteran families who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. SSVF grantees currently operate in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and Guam, working within their communities to end or prevent homelessness among veteran families. SSVF served over 70,000 veterans and their family members in fiscal year (FY) 2019. As a result of these and other efforts, homelessness among veterans had dropped by nearly 50 percent since 2010.
