Strategies Addressing Moral Injury in Today’s Military

Dec. 11, 2015

Army OneSource Resource Center is holding the National Web Event: Strategies Addressing Moral Injury in Today’s Military, scheduled for Dec. 16, 2015 from 1:00 – 2:30 pm CDT and moderated by Chaplain Steve Sullivan, M. Div, Veterans Affairs Clergy Partnership for Rural Veterans.

The exposure of war and violence during deployment can challenge an individual’s moral beliefs and values. Often times, service men and women may turn to their faith community for support and spiritual healing. Through treatment strategies, counseling and approaches to building capacity, faith-based leaders, mental health providers and other professionals are able to support their journey of recovery.

Now more than ever, dialog, continuing education, and advocacy for evidence-based treatment plans are needed to address moral injury. Join this FREE National Web Event as subject matter experts explore moral injury, a multi-faceted treatment strategy and other creative approaches to support today’s Military. Space is limited!

Participants will learn more about:

  • The definition of moral injury
  • The need for spiritual and therapeutic alliances
  • Advocacy for a pastoral care treatment plan
  • Moral injury education
  • The Moral Injury Reconciliation (MIR) treatment strategy
