National Center on Homelessness Among Veterans Website Now Online

Posted: 6/4/2009

While addressing attendees of the National Coalition for Homeless Veterans Annual Conference, Secretary Eric Shinseki of the of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) announced that the VA is launching a new center to develop, promote, and enhance policy, clinical care, research, and education in order to improve homeless services to veterans. The new center will be known as the National Center on Homelessness Among Veterans and will be co-located with the VA Medical Centers in Philadelphia, PA and Tampa, FL. The VA has launched a website for the center, which will be updated and expanded over the coming months.

The primary goal of this site is to serve as national forum to exchange new ideas; provide education and consultation to improve the delivery of services; and disseminate the knowledge gained through the efforts of the Center's Research and Model Development Cores to VA, other federal agencies, and community provider programs that assist homeless populations. The website is available here.
