VA Releases HUD-VASH Handbook

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has released a handbook on the VA portion of procedures for the Housing and Urban Development (HUD)-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (VASH) Program. The handbook sets forth the national authority for the administration, monitoring, and oversight of HUD-VASH services. This new handbook clarifies the admission process and procedure for homeless veterans into the HUD-VASH Program and the duties of those assigned responsibilities under the program. The handbook also addresses staffing changes associated with implementing and monitoring HUD-VASH-funded programs nationally and addressing program enhancements as a result of recent program expansion.
