U.S. Chamber of Commerce Hosts Event on Hiring Vets

Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric Shinseki and Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis will speak at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s second annual “Business Steps Up: Hiring our Heroes” event on Thursday, Nov. 12, in Washington, D.C. This complimentary event will focus on what the business community can do to help Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom veterans transition to civilian life and new careers.
The discussion will offer solutions to employment issues facing veterans as identified at last year’s inaugural event. Panelists will address the use of new forms of social media to help servicemembers find meaningful employment, as well as other topics.
Registration and breakfast will take place from 8 - 8:30 a.m, and the program will take place from 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
