Posted: 11/18/2009
On Thursday, Dec. 10, the National Institutes of Health will host “The Second Annual Trauma Spectrum Disorders Conference: A Scientific Conference on the Impact of Military Service on Families and Caregivers” in Bethesda, Maryland.
The conference, which will be held at the Natcher Conference Center from 8 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., is sponsored jointly by the Defense Centers of Excellence for Psychological Health and Traumatic Brain Injury; the National Institutes of Health; and the Departments of Defense, Health and Human Services, and Veterans Affairs. It will focus on how trauma spectrum disorders (TSD) such as post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury impact military and veteran families and caregivers across deployment, homecoming and reintegration.
At the conference, recent research on TSD will be examined as to how it can be translated into practice.
There is no attendance fee, and registration will close on Friday, Dec. 4.
