NCHV Hosts Calls on Homeless Veterans’ Reintegration Program SGA
April 5 and 10 (New Applicants) and April 6 (Returning Applicants and Current Grantees)

On March 29, 2012, the U.S. Department of Labor announced the availability of $15 million in grants through the Homeless Veterans’ Reintegration Program (HVRP). HVRP is the only federal program that focuses exclusively on the employment of veterans who are homeless. Funds will be awarded on a competitive basis to state and local workforce investment boards; local public agencies; and nonprofit organizations, including faith-based and community organizations. HVRP applications are due April 30, 2012.

The National Coalition for Homeless Veterans (NCHV) held separate teleconferences for new applicants (April 5 and April 10) and returning applicants and existing grantees (April 6) to provide information on the Solicitation for Grant Applications (SGA) and HVRP.

1. HVRP Program and Application: New Applicants

Due to the high demand for this call, NCHV held a second call for new applicants on April 10. This call repeated the same information from the call on April 5.

New applicants seeking an introduction to HVRP and to the application process were encouraged to participate. New staff members of current HVRP grantees were also encouraged to participate.
