In December 2012, Monster.com and Military.com hosted the first National Veteran Employment Summit. The Summit brought senior human resource professionals, military and government officials, academic leaders and military veterans together to address the best practices for preparing, supporting, and connecting veterans to the organizations that want to hire them. The report emphasizes that there is no “one-size-fits-all” model for veteran hiring practices, but offers helpful guidance and hopeful trends in veteran employment.
With around one million veterans expected to transition out of the military over the next five years, this type of report is vital to prepare businesses to benefit from the value that veterans bring to companies.
