In honor of Military Appreciation Month and Armed Forces Day, the Homes for Heroes Foundation will present five checks for $10,000 each to National Coalition of Homeless Veterans’ nonprofit organizations across the nation who serve homeless veterans.

Local Homes for Heroes specialists will join together as a team to present checks to:

Center for Veterans Issues in Milwaukee, WI

St. Patrick Center in St. Louis, MO

Family Endeavors Balance of State in Fort Worth, TX

Tampa Crossroads in Tampa, FL

HOPE Atlanta in Atlanta, GA

Homes for Heroes, Inc., was established to support heroes by helping them save money as they buy, sell or refinance a home. The Homes for Heroes Foundation was created by Homes for Heroes, Inc., to support heroes in the community facing a housing crisis or in need of urgent financial assistance. Together, along with local real estate agent and loan officer affiliate specialists, they give back to heroes as a way to say Thank You.

When a hero works with Homes for Heroes to buy or sell a home, they are joining the Circle of Giving. “Our heroes have told us it’s important for them to support their fellow heroes. When they work with Homes for Heroes, not only are they saving money, they also allow us to help fund the Homes for Heroes Foundation, which provides grants like this to assist our veteran community,” said Ruth Johnson, CEO/Founder of Homes for Heroes.

Homes for Heroes has helped more than 20,000 heroes save over $32 million after buying or selling a home. Because those heroes chose to work with Homes for Heroes, the Homes for Heroes Foundation has been able to award more than $500,000 in grants to help heroes in dire need across the country with housing or financial assistance.

“Our heroes are amazing people. They made commitments to serve us and that’s why we’re committed to giving back to them. The services provided by Homes for Heroes affiliate specialists and the grants awarded through the Homes for Heroes Foundation are how we say, ‘Thank you for your service,’” said Abby Waltz, National Director of Homes for Heroes.

About Homes for Heroes

Homes for Heroes, Inc., was established shortly following the tragic events of 9/11 as a way to give back and say “Thank You” to our nation’s heroes. Homes for Heroes is the largest nationwide network of affiliate real estate specialists, loan officer specialists and local businesses who provide easy ways for firefighters, EMS, law enforcement, military (active, reserves and veterans), healthcare professionals and teachers to save money when buying, selling or refinancing a home. Every time a hero uses Homes for Heroes for their real estate transactions, they help heroes in dire need. Homes for Heroes donates a portion of its earnings to the Homes for Heroes Foundation, a nonprofit that supports local organizations serving heroes in urgent need of housing or financial assistance.
