Since 1990, the National Coalition for Homeless Veterans has been the only national organization solely focused on addressing and ending veteran homelessness in the United States. Our coalition represents community-based service providers, researchers, advocates, policy leaders, and subject matter experts who are committed to ensuring that veterans receive the housing, health care, and supportive services they deserve.
Thanks to sustained federal, state, and local efforts and the partnership of organizations like yours, homelessness among veterans has reached its lowest level on record since tracking began in 2009. The latest federal estimate from 2024 found that 32,882 veterans experienced homelessness on a single night, a 7.5 percent decline from the prior year and a more than 55 percent reduction since 2010. Unsheltered homelessness among veterans also continues to decline under targeted initiatives aimed at housing stability and supportive services.
Despite this measurable progress, significant work remains to ensure that every veteran has a safe, stable place to call home. By joining NCHV, you and your organization become part of a powerful, unified voice advocating for sustainable policy solutions, increased funding, and stronger systems of care for veterans experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
Your membership expands our national coalition of partners and reinforces our ability to educate Congress, federal agencies, and other key stakeholders, strengthen community responses, and drive meaningful outcomes at the local, state, and national levels. Together, we advance long-term solutions, build on measurable progress, and expand what is possible for every veteran in need. Join us.
