Defense Centers of Excellence for Psychological Health and Traumatic Brain Injury (DCoE) will host its next webinar, “Military Families and Coping with Reintegration Challenges,” from 1 to 2:30 p.m. EDT, on Thursday, April 25.

Since the onset of Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom, military children have coped with tough family experiences, such as deployments, injuries or death of a parent. In response to these stressful situations, children and teens may express a range of emotions, from anger to sadness, and cope with their feelings by acting out or isolating themselves. Health care providers who serve military families have the opportunity to help parents and children struggling with the difficult issues of deployment, parental injury, grief and loss.

This webinar will:

Recognize the strength of military families

Discuss unique stressors military children cope with: deployment, injury or death

Describe the role of health care providers in supporting military children who have lost a parent
