On Tuesday, January 14, 2020, the Committee on Veterans’ Affairs Subcommittee on Economic Opportunity met to conduct a hearing entitled “Making HUD-VASH Work for all Veteran Communities.” The hearing continued the work the Committee focused on during field hearings held in Oceanside, CA and New Port Richey, FL during the summer of 2019.
NCHV CEO, Kathryn Monet was on the panel that included, Mr. Keith Harris, National Director of Clinical Operations VA Homeless Program Office U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs; Mr. Hunter Kurtz, Assistant Secretary of Public and Indian Housing U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development; Mr. Steve Berg, Vice President for Programs and Policy, National Alliance to End Homelessness; Mr. Greg Anglea, Chief Executive Officer, Interfaith Community Services; Mr. Gary Cooper, Chairman of the Board of Directors of NAIHC, Executive Director of the Housing Authority of the Cherokee Nation.
