The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Homeless Providers Grant and Per Diem (GPD) National Program Office has announced a significant funding opportunity for current GPD case management grantees. This renewal grant is designed to support community-based organizations in their efforts to provide critical case management services, improving housing retention for veterans transitioning to permanent housing or those at risk of homelessness.

Funding Opportunity Highlights

  • Program: GPD Case Management Renewal Grant (VA-GPD-CM-FY2026)
  • Available Funding: Approximately $15 million annually for 3 years (2025–2028).
  • Grant Size: Awards range from $75,000 to $300,000 per year, depending on the number of case managers requested. The funding is capped at $150,000 per full-time equivalent (FTE) case manager annually.
  • Eligibility: Only the 90 current GPD case management grantees who received funding starting October 1, 2023, are eligible to apply.

Why This Matters

This grant renewal ensures that organizations already making a difference in the lives of veterans can continue their impactful work. Case management services funded by this program help veterans maintain stable housing as they transition out of homelessness. These services are essential for preventing homelessness recurrence and fostering long-term success for vulnerable veterans.
