The National Coalition for Homeless Veterans (NCHV) is thankful for the United States Interagency Council on Homelessness’ (USICH) recent release of the USICH Federal Strategic Plan to Prevent and End Homelessness, and for the work of the administration on ending veteran homelessness. We are encouraged by the inclusion of most of NCHV’s top priorities for preventing and ending veteran homelessness. This strategic plan is key in coordinating not only the homelessness efforts of over twenty Federal agencies but also guides the efforts of state and local communities work to enable them to proactively fill in any gaps in access to homeless services. NCHV looks forward to working with USICH and communities across the country on the implementation of the Federal Strategic Plan and to enhance the efforts of all agencies to make homelessness brief, and nonrecurring.
