Effectively including the voices of those with lived experience
This quarterly webinar will cover, “Effectively including the voices of those with lived experience”.
To develop well-thought-out and complete communities, we need to functionally utilize the thoughts and opinions of those with lived expertise. The challenge is doing so in a way that is respectful of individual experiences while also using a collective voice to change the things that need systemic change.
The goal is to learn from communities that have a thoughtful method for sharing the perspectives of those with lived experiences- of housing instability, homelessness, utilizing veteran programs, and accessing a wide range of supportive services- to change how we create opportunities for housing stability moving forward.
Housing Needs of Native Veterans
We know that Native American Veterans who live on tribal and traditional lands have increasing housing needs. However, identifying their housing challenges and aligning resources to meet their needs can be difficult due to low visibility of homelessness, perceptions and understanding, and geographic positioning. This webinar will discuss:
What homelessness looks like amongst Native American veterans and challenges in housing provision that are unique to this population
Resources that can be used to address the housing needs of Native American Veterans
Best practices in affordable housing development and preservation that align with the cultural needs of Native American Veterans
