Rent & Mortgage Assistance

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted veterans in unprecedented ways, including by increasing housing and financial instability. The CDC eviction and foreclosure moratorium, which temporarily halts evictions and foreclosures for tenants and homeowners, respectively, who are not able to make payments, will expire on July 31, 2021. NCHV is working with our partners to urge Congress to extend the moratorium and enact other programs and services that can aid Americans in need.

Emergency Rental Assistance Searchable Database:
The Treasury Emergency Rental Assistance program has made $46.55 billion available to help renters struggling to pay rent or utilities. States (including the District of Columbia), territories, tribal governments or tribally designated housing entities, the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands, and local governments with more than 200,000 residents may be administering a program as part of the federal Treasury Emergency Rental Assistance program. US Dept. of Treasury Rental Assistance Resources
The Department Treasury has collected websites associated with their grantees’ Emergency Rental Assistance (ERA) programs to help tenants and landlords find rental assistance programs in their local areas.
The Homeowner Assistance Fund is there to help prevent mortgage delinquencies, loss of utilities or home energy services, foreclosures, and displacing homeowners due to financial hardships after January 21, 2020. Click here to learn more.
